What it is
Microsoft Copilot is the consumer version of Microsoft's AI assistant, now at copilot.com. You chat with it to find answers, create content and complete tasks, on the web, in apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, and in the Edge browser. It is free with a signed-in Microsoft account.
It suits people who already use Windows or Microsoft's apps. Some capabilities have usage limits on the free tier, and Copilot features inside the Office apps require an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription. This listing is the consumer app; Microsoft 365 Copilot for businesses is sold separately.
Best for
- Windows users who want an assistant built into their PC
- Quick answers, drafts and images without a subscription
