What it is
CodeRabbit installs on GitHub or GitLab and reviews each pull request: it writes a plain-language summary and walkthrough, leaves line comments with suggested fixes you can apply in one click, and lets you chat with it in the thread. It learns from your feedback and guidelines, runs pre-merge checks, flags low-quality AI-generated PRs, and can also review code before a PR in your IDE, the CLI or an agent loop. Higher plans add test generation and security monitoring.
Reviews on public repositories are free. Private repos need a paid plan with a 14-day trial: Essentials is $24 per user a month billed annually ($30 monthly), Team is $48 and Advanced $72. Reviews past a plan's limit cost $0.25 per file if enabled.
Best for
- Teams that want a first-pass review on every pull request
- Catching low-quality AI-generated changes before merge
- Open-source maintainers, who get free reviews on public repos
