What it is
SciSpace, formerly Typeset, is an AI research assistant for academics. It searches millions of research papers, runs literature reviews, lets you chat with PDFs and extract data, and includes an AI writer, citation generator, paraphraser and AI detector, plus an agent for multi-step research tasks.
It suits students and researchers who want many research tools in one place. There is a free plan with limits. Premium costs $20 a month, or $12 a month billed annually, with Advanced and Max tiers above it for heavier use. Its paraphrasing and AI-detection tools are not a substitute for your institution's rules on AI use.
Best for
- Reading and questioning dense papers
- Running a literature review from a research question
- Students writing papers with citations
