What it is
Google Vids is Google's video creation app, opened at vids.new in a desktop browser. You build a video from templates, stock media, recordings, your own footage or a Slides deck, and Gemini features add AI voiceovers, preset avatars and generated clips from Google's Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash model: 3 to 10 seconds each, at 720p or 1080p, from a prompt or an image. Finished videos download as MP4 or go straight to YouTube.
It suits people who want a few AI shots inside a real edit, not a stream of clips. Since September 2026 any personal Google account can generate clips at no cost, with 60 seconds of AI video and 6 avatar videos a month. Google AI Pro raises the clips to 500 seconds a month and Ultra to 2,500 or 10,000; on work accounts, admins decide. Generated clips are meant to be used inside your Vids video.
