What it is
Udio generates songs with vocals from a text prompt, and can build on audio you upload, extend tracks or remix them. It runs in the browser and has an iOS app. The free tier gives 10 credits a day, up to 100 a month, and the paid Standard and Pro subscriptions include up to 2,400 and 6,000 credits a month.
The main limit: after Udio settled with Universal Music Group in October 2025, it disabled downloads of audio, video and stems, and its help center still says so. Songs stay on the platform, so Udio does not suit anyone who needs files to publish or edit elsewhere. Udio describes this as a transition period while it prepares new models and a licensed service with Universal, and no launch date has been published.
